We were testing the ropes to see if the ropes would hold - we were testing them high in the air, for this was the place of birds and winged creatures and angels, or so we thought. But the devils came, and the devils bound us, and thus we were bound hand and foot by the devils, and cast to the earth as yeast for the earth. And thus we were cast to the earth by the things that had neither wings nor feet - those spherical devils that cast us to the earth like yeast for the earth. And thus we were yeast of the earth and gave rise to the waters of the earth and the waterless regions of the earth, so that the earth was rife with living things constantly in motion - and thus we were yeast of motion on the earth. For the round devils had seen us in the sky among the winged things and birds, testing the ropes in the skies, and the round devils had said among themselves, "God forbid we allow them to put these words into action. Let us cast them to the earth as yeast for the earth," and so it was done by the devils - and so we were stripped of our illusions.
