There is a tiny star in each of us, each of us has a tiny star within himself, within herself; and that star is split down the middle; the right half gives off light, and the left half gives off darkness. For this is the structure of the entire cosmos, the light on the right-hand side, the darkness on the left-hand side; and we each have two faces and two natures. Each of us is a pair of twins, one loved, the other hated; and the hated twin suffers by virtue of the loved twin's bliss; and the loved twin experiences happiness by virtue of the hated twin's suffering; and there is darkness and light within each of us, and agony and bliss within each of us; and the disorder comes when these are separated out and cut off from one another, so that the agony in hell is complete, and the bliss in the heavens is complete. This is what is happening: heaven and hell are being separated out from one another, there is a sword placed between the light and the darkness, so that hell is the most terrible place, heaven is the most blissful place. Through the cycles and seasons heaven and hell are mixed for a season, so that the same souls experience happiness and suffering for a season. Then slowly heaven and hell become separated from one another, and the suffering all begins to gather into one place, and the bliss all begins to gather into one place, until heaven and hell are completely separated from one another for a season, and then eventually they will begin to be mixed in together again. There is a star in each of us, each of us has a star inside - for each of us is a tiny cosmos, and all we have to do is look inside ourselves to see the nature of the cosmos around us.
