He was lying on his back paralyzed when the alien came to his room. The alien didn't enter, though, but merely opened his door and stood there letting him be terrified. The alien had a frightening dog with him and the dog ran up to his bedside and threatened to bite; this man couldn't move and couldn't speak, so he was helpless. He wanted to call out to the alien, "How did you get in here?" but all he could do was gasp. The alien didn't want anything from him, really; all he wanted was to frighten him, and see him quake with terror. Then the alien said, "This was all a dream," and when the man awoke he truly believed it had been a dream, and he would spend the day trying to forget.
