The Dances of Dawn

A teary-eyed smile on a face that was long;
Cycles of toil have turned to circular songs;
We have found the round beautiful spherical sound

Of the wondrous, fulfilling dances of dawn.

We find ourselves in a meadow all clothed in green-yellow,
And tattered long dresses and faces so mellow,
And a blond haired young maiden with a smile saying, "Hello,"

See us twirl! Yes, we spin till all pain is gone!

Dancing we go - to here, there, to and fro,
While the color on faces laughs in merry red glow;
All the while never resting or breaking or slow;

Neither needing nor do we for anything long.

The sun beams so bright on smiles feeling his light,
From the one who consoles us through our great plight;
And no more do we doubt this his goodness and right,

Caught up within bounding dances so strong:

Caught up in the joy of the dances of dawn.
Come with us to wonder - sing with us the song!
