The Verbal Symphony

First Movement, Allegro appassionato.
The Promise

The light is new,
The rain has stopped,

The morning calm arrives.

Life breathes fresh; creation, blest,

Awakes, once more, and thrives.

The rainbow
Sends a dainty,

Color-blended arch so high.

The eastern sun, the western stars,

Paint perfectly the sky.

The birdsongs

Gently trill from out

Their silken bosoms bright.

Sound laden sighs, and whistles soft

Come usher out the night.

Yes, cheerful chirps and sounds aloft

Come usher out the night.

Glory of the new light rises
Higher! Higher! Higher!
Sending heartfelt warmth
With rays from heaven, blazing
Bright, with wing-borne angels, gilded
Brushed by golden color
Higher! Higher! Higher!
Singing songs of peace and thriving
Music!
Louder! Louder! Louder!
Praises pouring forth in perfect voices
Faster! Faster! Deeper!
Here arises awe so more than human
Stronger! Stronger! Steeper!
Power never held such sound in union

. . . never held such sound in union

. . . never held such sound in union

Thousands are they!

Voices strong!

Thousands singing

Choral song

Notes go rising

None go wrong

Thousands praising

Holy throng!

"Paradise awaits!" they cry out,

"Paradise alive!" in chorus,

"Paradise awaits us, coming

Soon if we survive."

"Paradise awaits, behold!

The world has gone awry

The bridesmaids' lamps are lit

And look! The wood at last is dry."

Sharper! Sharper! Clearer!

Soon forever, ever

All alive!

For every, every hearer

Sorrows never, never

Shall survive

Farther! Farther! Higher!

This they sing, sing

Mirthful breath

Flying, flying choir!

Christ is King, King

Over death!

Everlasting choir

Praising him who

Conquered death!

"Paradise awaits," cry all

With voices loud and blest,

"The poor shall be uplifted

And the rich shall be oppressed."

"Paradise will soon arrive

Come all ye weary now!

The homeless will be wearing rings

With crowns upon the brow.

The homeless soon will be like kings

To whom the rich will bow."

Glory still arising

Fire! Fire!

Bright exploding stars

Choral music reaching

Higher! Higher!

Ever higher bars!

Timelines reach Eternity

In wonder! Woes all will have passed

The mustard seed will bear its fruit

That hope to which we hold so fast

For God has given promise of a life

Forever, everlast!

Yes God has given promise of a life

Forever, everlast so soon! Lord!-Come!

Second Movement, Andante.
The Trial Begins

Light is dim,

And life is draining, draining fast.

The world today

Is worse than in the hopeful past.

This toil will never, never end

Again him God will never send;

And ever far from here seems ever, everlast.

Yes ever far from here seems ever, everlast.

The sun sinks silently

Across a bitter sea.

An end to all this trial

Will never, never be.

The shadows gently, dimly spread

Across a world with hope all dead.

And never, never will the sleeping saints be free.

No never, never will the martyred saints be free.

"My hope," says one,

"Appear with every silver star.

I cannot see your light,

You are so very far.

In darkness is the world today,

Forgotten is your holy way,

In this, the very dead of night, come from afar;

In this, the hellish dead of night, come from afar.

"Arise, arise, my hope,

This life is full of dread.

All but forgotten is

All your Anointed said.

Come closer, city of the sky

Jerusalem, come, swiftly fly.

For Church and Christ are soon to be forever wed.

True Church and Christ are soon to be forever wed."

"I hear you," says a voice,

So gentle, ever faint.

"Look to the skies,

And find the hope that there I paint.

Hold onto me so strong and fast,

The last of woes still haven't passed,

But know that I will rescue every single saint.

Yes know that I will rescue every lowly saint.”

Third Movement, Allegro con brio.
Armageddon

Power is light! Power is breath!
Power makes life! Power makes death!
Might is alive! Might we adore!
Faith is in strength! Love is for war!

We    -    are    -    like    -    gods

We cannot fail! We cannot die!
We do not fear! Believe the lie!
Shut up your ears! (Of course you are free.)
Shut tight your eyes! (Now you can see.)

You    -    will    -    o    -    bey

(But I hold onto you! My salvation come!
O Lord of the Hosts! Your hymns I can hum!

Know you are my Lord! For you I will die!

And live in your sight! I hope in the sky!

Come    -    fly    -    to    -    me)

(They flay out my heart! They take a mean toll!
But know this my Lord! They touch not my soul!

See, I am unharmed! Though flames they abound!

My self it is whole! My soul it is sound!

King    -    dom    -    draw    -    near!)

We can kill men! We can kill God!
Aberrant fool! We hold the rod!
Fear only us! Only we are!
You are a rat! Our world you mar!

Fall    -    to    -    your    -    knees

Anthems inspire! Patriots live!
America grand! My heart I give!
Eagle of Gold! Land so alive!
Mountains so vast! Fields that so thrive!

It's    -    not    -    the    -    same

We will now cleanse - our world - of you.
We will now cleanse - our world - of you.
WE LIVE!

Fourth Movement, Allegro.
Life Forever, Everlast

Falling

Stars are falling

Falling

Stars are falling

Portents

Blaze and burn, invading

Flying angels calling

Out the . . .

Rising

Souls are rising

Rising

Souls are rising

City

Of the sky is landing

Angels calling calling

out the . . .

Singing

We are singing

Singing

We are singing

Joy at last, oh joy at last

Oh angels call my, call my

Call my . . .

Ending

Pain is ending

Ending

Pain is ending

Sorrow cannot stir a soul

And not at tear shall moisten

earth,

no, not a tear shall moisten earth,

no, not a tear shall moisten earth again!

Everything, everything is new

City of the sky has landed

All is now as Christ commanded

God is good, good thorough and through

Risen, all are risen, praising

Life is, life is so amazing!

So ripe the wheat, ripe the wheat grew

Long was harvest in its coming

Hopeless was the world becoming

Come with us, come with us too

Wedding guests are all arriving

Life forever, ever thriving!

"We are free"

"So so free"

"It is he"

"Christ the key"

"Look at all"

"Fraught with glee"

"Perfect land"

"Perfect sea"

"Oh, we're free"

"Always free"

"Eaten fruit"

"Of the tree"

"Come and sing"

"Come and see"

"Of old Death"

"Now we're free!"

"Paradise is here," we sing,

"Nothing now is lost.

We bought the priceless pearl,

At such a meager, meager cost."

"Paradise forever lasts,

With no more blood to shed,

God and all of humankind,

Are reconciled and wed."

"For as he freed his Rock that day,

He's us to freedom led.

And as he raised his Son that day

He's raised us from the dead!"

Now all is just as,

Just as they who spoke for him have said.

Yes all is just as,

Just as they who spoke for him have said so long ago.

Love!-Won!
