JSR: What is the System that runs this world, and is in control of the world? Ought we to overthrow or change it? Shall the powerless stay powerless? Or shall they rise up and make revolution?
If the poor are the blessed
and the rich undeserving;
if the System that controls the world
rewards the wicked
and torments the pure
ought we not to overthrow this System?
Is it not the very incarnation of the Evil One?
Ezekiel: You think in a human way, and your thoughts are small and nearsighted. For in the hell worlds there are Systems in these worlds that force the people to get all their Prana by theft. No one can give Prana in these worlds unless it is his ruin, her ruin; and if someone does not only will he, will she suffer lack of Prana, but all the others will do that one dishonor and despise that one. These Systems grow and sprout in the hell worlds, giving the thieves the most Prana, making it impossible not to steal. And thus is a sword placed between heaven and hell: for in the lowest hell worlds in order not to steal Prana one must practically let the others torture one to death. No, this System is God’s way of making it a difficult penance the ones in hell must pay to rise on into the heavens. And no one can seek to change the whole cosmos:
for this world gives rise
to some world higher and better
that could not have happiness and peace
without our war and greed.
Does it not seem correct to you that nations without freedom only exist by virtue of other nations that have it? Dictatorships thrive on the freedom that exists outside of them; for the ones who really desire freedom will flee, and the ones who do not flee will submit. The whole world could never be ruled by a dictator: the people would have no hope in escape, and would rise up and overtake him. And nations with freedom are always looking to dictatorships, the people see the dictatorships and say, "We shall be careful that this doesn’t happen here; we shall not let it happen here," and they keep a close watch on everything, checking every violation of freedom. The whole of the world can never be free, and the whole of the world can never be a prison; for the opposites draw their very existence from the tension between them, they exist by virtue of opposing one another, and each could not be but for its opposite. So too is the cosmos, and one will never rid the cosmos of suffering. All each soul can do is try to make sure that he, that she is one of the infinite souls in heaven, and not one of the infinite souls in hell. No soul can save any soul but himself, but herself; and no one can stop anyone from suffering, though in our shortsighted illusions it seems like we can. To give is not to help: it is to show that the heart is pure, and to purify further. So give the homeless drunkard money; it will not help him, but it will help you. It does not help him any more to give him food, but giving him food will help you as much.
No one can do any harm to another,
nor come to another and save him, save her;
for God has said, "I will give them illusions
that each may be found out,
that what is in their hearts may be shown;
and then each will be rewarded accordingly
through the means of the others around him."
