The cavalry went out: in helicopters and military vehicles the cavalry went out: they went through the land, terrorizing the land. They made raids together, they raided guerrilla camps together, they raided towns together, they destroyed food stores and crops together. And at night they gathered together, and drank together, and the whole army sang together, "We are we, the many that is one; aren’t we strong together, being many that are one together?" I saw the army in Los Angeles in 1992, the army was patrolling and guarding Los Angeles from looters and marauders; there was a strong force there, and they stood guard near the shopping centers, and marched through the streets, and made their presence known. I said to them, "There are many here you are fighting, many and many, and you are few." They said to me, "We are we, the many that is one; and they are they, the many that is many. They are armed and we are armed; they are many more than we. But we are one together and strong together, while they are scattered apart—they are not one together or strong together." And I knew the army would prevail, so I offered the soldiers who guarded my shopping center many gifts and refreshments, hoping to be on good terms with the victors; and I very much feared their enemies. But they refused all my gifts and refreshments, and said to me, "We are we, the many that is one; we do not accept comfort and aid but that it comes from us, given to us from us; and in this way we are rich in comforts and well cared for; but if we took comfort and aid from the outside, this would compromise our bond together; and certainly we are one together and strong together."
